CORDY ANGLERS
The Anglers Club enjoyed their 2nd tournament of the season on Cordry Lake this evening. After rainy and windy weather the past few days, the conditions should be perfect.
SWEETWATER SPILLWAY
Shawn Michel who has an engineering background has been conducting a daily study of both Cordry and Sweetwater spillways since early February. In approximately 2003 the Sweetwater Spillway corrugated steel tube was discovered to be rusted and close to failure. A new slightly smaller plastic tube was inserted and grouted into place. Engineers indicated that the smaller tube would allow more water through it due to the smooth surface. In recent years, Sweetwater seems to have had more frequent high water/yellow light issues. Also included is the intake system and grate which also contribute to the flow. The lakeside area of the intake system was recently dug out to enhance water flow. Stay tuned for the results.
