CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES

I was down at the Sweetwater Boar Ramp this morning helping a friend take his boat out and here comes a "work barge" loaded to the gills with the remains of what looks like an old dock system.  It appears that construction projects are not slowing down.  Gossip is that local contractors a booked a year out!

OX ROAST LABOR DAY REVIEW

The 62nd annual Ox Roast is in the record books.  A freak Saturday morning storm rained and blew shade tents all over the grounds but by the advertised noon opening of the event everything was in place and the crowds came!  It appeared to be a "full house" all afternoon until the closing time of 5:00 PM.  Thanks to all of the volunteers and workers who make this a success.  Even though the forecast was showers and overcast skies, the lakes were busy on Saturday and Sunday but.....activity slowed down on the official Labor Day on Monday.  The green lights on both lakes will now be adjusted to earlier evening times as sunset times become earlier and earlier.

It was Saturday night at the movies at Sweetwater Beach.  I wasn't too impressed with the idea until I visited that evening.  The night was beautiful, lighted boats on the water, beach swimmers in the dark, a good sized group watching the movie, and free popcorn!

NEW REALTY COMPANY

Looks like a new realty office under the name of "Apple" is opening up at the building located at the 4-way stop in Nineveh.  This building used to house a flower, fruit, and vegie business and was then sold to a new owner who cleaned up and "re-habed"  the property.  It has been available for over a year.

NINEVEH CORNER

Rumors have it that a new gasoline station and Subway sandwich restaurant are planned for the southwest corner at the Nineveh 4-way stop sign.

LOCK NESS MONSTERS

Arrived home this evening and noticed wave activity out front lakeside.  I thought it might be a fisherman manuvering his boat around.....not so.  It was 2 furry creatures swimming in 50' circles one behing the other creating a noticable wake.   It was NOT muskrats!  Their bodies appeared to be 3' in lenth.  I'm guessing beavers.
