WONDERFUL WINTER

Winter has finally arrived with snow and cold weather.  A light snow made the roads slick on Friday and the cold weather last week had frozen the lakes.  Both Cordry and Sweetwater are about 85% frozen over.  Several smaller lakes and ponds in the area are totally frozen over with 5 or more inches thickness.  The larger lakes are probably Not Safe yet recreational enjoyment.

SNOWY JANUARY WEEKEND

A light dusting of snow decorated the area on Saturday morning January 15.  Roads were slick early but cleared off by late morning.  Sweetwater light back on green!  Some of the coves are covered with ice but main lake remains open.

SWEETWATER HIGH WATER

Sweetwater has been "under" the yellow light for the past 2 weeks.  Frequent rains and more importantly is debris that has been blocking the spillway.  In addition to the normal "leaf dams," other debris including large limbs and plastic garbage lids has collected against the safety grate blocking the flow of water.  CSCD workers have been attending the spillway of late.  The water level is now close to normal.

NEW CSCD BOARD MEMBERS

The election is over and the results are in.  Aaron Parris in area 2 and Mark Rasdall in area 5 were sworn in as the new board members today.  Thanks to Melissa Swinford and Dale Sears who also threw their hats in the ring for the election.

A BIT OF ICE

The warm weather over the Chritsmas Holidays was enjoyable and spoiled us all!  Winter weather is now in force as yesterday's temperature was 6 degrees.  Just a dusting of snow and cold temperatures are producing some lake ice around the shores and in some of the coves.
