MEMORIAL DAY KIDS RIDE
Thanks to the local Cordry Sweetwater Lot Owners Association for sponsoring the annual kids ride day. The ride from the Conservancy Office to the Clubhouse featured a variety of wheeled vehicles plus a couple of family dogs. The event was topped off with ice cream and goodies for all participants.

FISH STORY
The local Anglers Club held a fishing tournament today on both Cordry and Sweetwater Lakes. The winning fisherman was local contractor Rodney Gunter who brought in a 6.2 lb large mouth bass and a 3 lb small mouth bass. Congratulations to Rodney and applause to the Anglers Club for sponsoring the event.
WATER METER TRANSMITTERS
Several of us have wondered about the holes that have been made in the water meter covers. As part of the upgrading of the water utility, small transmitters are being installed in every water meter pit. So....the hole will be filled with a plastic appearing unit. This will eliminate the time consuming job of physically reading each meter each month. This will free up man hours for other area jobs.
SCUBA DIVERS
As part of updating their credentials, area sheriffs divisions often visit Sweetwater Lake for Scuba Diving. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department was out this week diving off of the boat ramp area.

ELK DRIVE PROJECT
The Elk Drive project is underway. This area has several deep ravines that drain towards Sweetwater Lake. This one of the largest watershed areas in the Conservancy and Elk Drive has been in need of improvements for a long time.

SOGGY!
I've lost track of how many inches of rain we've had this past week on top of the previous week's rain. As of this writing,(Friday, May 5th, 9:00 AM) Sweetwater is up to the bottoms of the local docks. Even if it stopped raining today, the run-off from the watershed will keep the lake high for days.
