CHILI COOK OFF!
I hear the CSLOA is promoting a "Chili Cook Off" scheduled for March 4th, 2016 beginning at 700 PM. Suggestions are to bring a pot of chili. (meat or meatless) CSLOA will provide plates, bowls, and silverware. Local judges will rate the different entries and award prizes to the winners along with the official title of CSLOA CHILI OFF WINNER! In addition, a "game night" will follow. I'm hoping there will be some euchre players there! Contact Betsy Serra - babserra@gmail.com or Alison Randolf - arandolf@nhj.k12.in.us

NEW CONVENIENCE STORE
This article appeared in the Daily Journal today. Looks like there will be some changes in Nineveh! A new convenience store/gas station is planned for Nineveh at the 4 way stop. With approval of Johnson County officials, construction could begin in about 2-3 months.

NEW SIGN
The new CSLOA information sign at the clubhouse was installed today. The old one was probably 40+ years old and succumbed to a wind storm back in December. Insurance helped pay for the new updated sign. Pictured is Betsy Sera of the CSLOA and sign company installers. The new sign looks great!

ICING OVER
Approximately the north 1/2 of Sweetwater and Cordry Lakes is skimmed over with snow covered ice. The main bodies near the dams remain open water as of this writing. Curiously enough, Lake Lemon, a 1,700 square acre lake in Western Brown and Monroe Counties is completely frozen over. Lake Lemon is extremely shallow as compared to Cordry and Sweetwater Lakes.

ICE!
Finally, winter weather and temperatures have arrived. After last week's never ending rain which raised both lakes, cold weather has arrived. A thin skim of ice at the north end of both lakes is forming after cold nights.
