LOCK NESS MONSTERS

Arrived home this evening and noticed wave activity out front lakeside.  I thought it might be a fisherman manuvering his boat around.....not so.  It was 2 furry creatures swimming in 50' circles one behing the other creating a noticable wake.   It was NOT muskrats!  Their bodies appeared to be 3' in lenth.  I'm guessing beavers.

BOAT STICKERS IN

The 2022-2023 Boat Stickers are available at the Conservancy Office.  Residnets should call ahead and make an appointment.  (317-933-2893)  This allows the office personel to have your stickers and forms ready.  I did and was in and out in 5 minutes.  Remember to be courtious to the office workers....they didn't make the rules, they are there to help everyone get their boat stickers.   Speedboats, Pontoon Boats, and grandfathered Jet Skis are $120.  Fishing boats $60.  Non Motorized Boats $10.

SURPRISE FLOODING

A 2:00 AM Storm dumped at least a couple inches of rain in a short period of time.  North end of Sweetwater looks like "creamed coffee!"  Lake level still on the rise at 12:00 noon.....may go over docks.

INDIANA CLEAN LAKES SAMPLING

Prof Melissa Landy brought her students out today and took intensive water samples from both Cordry and Sweetwater Lakes.  Ms. Landy is the professional in charge of Indiana Clean Lakes program.  Quinn Heatherington and I do regular water clarity and sampling each summer and submit the information to the IU sponsored program.  "Go IU!"
