HIGH WINDS AND LEAVES!

Experienced high winds last night and today.  The high winds are bringing down the last of the leaves plus branches and sticks.  I hate to see all the "leaf-slicks" in the lake when so many of us try to avoid blowing leaves into the lakes.   Mother Nature doesn't abide by our rules!

SURPRISE RETIREMENT PARTY

Bernie McGaha officially retired from the Brown County Sheriff's Department and the CSCD Security Department today....November 22nd.  He has worked for the Conservancy for 34 years.  He was completely surprised by the "full house-standing room only" crowd.  The event was planned by the Conservancy office staff.  Job well done Bernie!

SKIING and SKIING!

Last week's cold spell made Perfect North Ski Slopes near Lawrenceburg get it in gear and made snow.  My friend Dan and I went down for opening day on Friday, November 15th and did some snow skiing.  Saturday, we put a boat in and went water skiing!  Water 50 degrees!

VETERAN'S DAY SURPRISE!

Sunday the 10th was sunny and 62 degrees.  Monday the 11th, all Hell broke loose!  Started off with an overcast sky that developed into light rain but as the temperature dropped the rain turned to snow!
Predictions are for a low of 13 degrees tonight and continued cold freezing temps all week.  Wow!

NEW SIGN

Do notice the new sign just across the street from the Church of the Lakes.  Looks sharp!

TRAIL 5

I recently borrowed a dog and have been hiking the trails.  Josh and Josh added trail #5 in the last couple of years and it is now one of my favorite trails.  It is now in good "hikable" condition.

RAINED OUT!

The Cordry Sweetwater Fire Department Haunted Trail had a successful Friday night but mother nature intervened on Saturday producing an all day and all evening rain forcing the cancellation of the Haunted Trail for the 26th.  Volunteers from around decorated the "Y" at the entrance with all kinds of pumpkins.
