The Tulip Trees in the area have been making quite a mess. They are giving off an extraordinary amount of sticky sap this spring. It's due to the Tulip Tree Scale, a small bug that infects Tulip Trees. It's also a result of our warm winter that didn't kill off many insects. There are even large black sticky spots on some of the roads where the Tulip Trees hang over. I thought I was having a flat tire one out to look.....just sticky spot in the road!
