BROWN COUNTY PARK
It was just announced that Brown County State Park was put on the register of National Historic Sites. The park is the largest park in Indiana with 16,000 acres. Prior to being put on the registry, Contracts were let for 2 sections of original steps and retaining walls were let. These steps and wall were part of original work done by the WPA in the 1930's. This project is a million dollar project. Also being completed is a walkway and 2 steel frame bridges between the park and the town of Nashville. Pedestrians will be able to walk from Nashville to the Park.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER
The main bodies of Cordry and Sweetwater Lakes finally skimmed over last night at the temperatures were around zero degrees. A group of various species of birds hovered together to keep a "hole" open at Sweetwater beach. Not included was Mr. Eagle having lunch on the ice further out on the lake.

DIGGING OUT!
Two weeks ago, I was complaining that we don't have winter anymore! I will now stop complaining. Our road crew has been working 24 hour shifts and they deserve to be commended on an outstanding job. We probably received appoximately 10 inches of fresh snow.....now it's time to dig out. My neighbor, Tony Carrico on Center Lake Road, was plowing out his driveway today.

SLICK SNOW
A surprise 5 inch snow blanketed the area beginning about 4:00 yesterday. By 5:30 the hills got super slick as the snow plows and workers couldn't keep up. Church Hill and REMC Hill were all skating rinks on tilt! This blue truck didn't make it up REMC Hill last night!
