The Church of the Lakes sponsored a 5 mile run/walk on May 29th around Cordry Lake. A huge turnout enjoyed picture perfect weather. Pictured is Debbie Sandlin being greeted by daughter and followed by mother Loraine Cleefman in the golf cart. Debbie just successfully completed a year-long treatment for cancer and chose to celebrate by participating.

The Brown County Planning and Zoning meeting to consider permission for the construction of a cell phone tower flopped! Verizon did not have all the needed forms ready and the meeting was cancelled. Plenty of interested citizens were turned away at the door. Let's try again on June 23rd.
At its May 18th meeting, the CSCD Board of Directors listened to various concerns related to the current lawsuit of "Klosinski verses the Conservancy." Judge Judy Stewart of the Brown County Circuit Court is due to produce a ruling by early July. The outcome will affect security in our area. At present, our securty officers are being paid with funds borrowed from the water utility and boat sticker funds.
The CSCD, at its May 18th meeting, voted to name a small triangular parcel of ground at the interesection of Hackberry and Cordry Drives; SAM EGGERS PARK. Sam has tended the area for years, planting flowers, carrying water, weeding, etc. Sam and his wife are one of several "original" owners on Cordry Lake. Sam celebrated his 90th birthday last year and can still be seen out fishing on Cordry Lake.

Tom Hofmeister was motoring in from fishing on Thursday, May 13th and was only 20 feet from reaching his dock when.....a huge oak tree at water's edge came crashing down across the cove between Hummingbird Drive and Heron Drive. Tom was a bit shaken but not injured.
