Saturday April 20th brought out the volunteers for the annual Nineveh Road Clean-Up. Organized for the past number of years by Carrie Vavul, the result is clean edges along the front entrance to Cordry Sweetwater Lakes. We usually stop at the north Brown County line but.....one group got carried away and continued into Johnson County to the Dollar General Store!

LIGHTED FLAGS!
Last week, Angela VonHoven gathered some volunteers together to assemble new flag poles for both Cordry and Sweetwater Lakes. The assembly included putting the poles together, attaching the flags, and attaching solar powered lights! (YES LIGHTS!) The Conservancy workers will be installing the flags in the near future. Much appreciation to Angela for managing this project for the past few years.

THE ECLIPSE
There's been lots of talk about the coming total eclipse on April 8th, 2024. Neighboring communities are planning events over the entire weekend of April 6th-8th. Area hotels are all booked. Parking in school parking lots is up for dibs. Everyone is being warned/cautioned about the influx of people and traffic issues. The local law enforcement are taxed and admit the projected crowds are overwhelming! Our area does not have any planned activities but.....locals are getting their boats launched and ready for the afternoon event. Even the lakes may be crowded! Lets hope for a clear sky on April 8th! Stay tuned!
WAKE BOATS AND WAKE SURFING
Much time and discussion at the March 19th, CSCD Meeting was devoted to Wake Boats and Wake Surfing. No solid decision was made although the Board did pass a motion for a 60 day moratorium on any new "boats designed to create large wakes" to be stickered. This does not apply to boats that are currently stickered with the district. There was also discussion about further testing, weight limits, and length measurements.

SPAGHETTI DINNER SMASH
The CSLOS (Cordry Sweetwater Lot Owners Association) sponsored spaghetti dinner was standing room only! Maybe it was the wine! The "dessert auction" brought in over $1,000! Good job CSLOA Board Members and volunteers.

SURPRISE SNOW!
Friday afternoon brought the most significant snow of the winter season. Perhaps 3-4 inches of snow were dumped in a short amount of time causing many "slide offs" and wrecks around central Indiana.

SOLID ICE!
Sweetwater Lake is completely iced over. Below 0 temperatures overnight finally got the job done. It probably won't last long as warm temperatures are predicted for the coming week.

FIRST SNOW
The first measurable snow of 2024 came today (01/06/2024) It was too warm for it to stick around for very long. The conservancy road crew treated all the main roads the evening before.
