LORDY LORDY LOOK WHO'S 90!

I had the opportunity to visit with Ruth Ann Gillentine today. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday on January 17th. She and her husband bought the lot where she now lives on Osprey Drive in 1953! Ruth Ann is quite the euchre player. Happy Birthday Ruth Ann.

WATER RECEDING

Even with the Saturday rain, the lake level on Sweetwater is going down. On Friday the water was touching the bottom board on my dock. By Sunday morning the water level had visibly gone down by a couple of inches.

DEDICATED EMPLOYEES!

It became apparent today that Sweetwater Lake has remained at a high level after a heavy rain two weeks ago. Further investigation revealed that the spillway was block with heavy bunches of leaves and a large log. Three Conservancy employees tackled the job of clearing the spillway grate. There was little discussion as both Joshes emptied their pockets and waded in to wrestle the log out of the way. The spillway is now flowing at full force.

ICED OVER!

Record cold weather beginning on December 27th has completely frozen over both Cordry and Sweetwater Lakes. It's unusual for Sweetwater completely freeze especially around the tip of Eagle Drive due to springs and ducks/geese. Not so this year. A warm spell on January 9th-12th resulted in some thawing but that ended with a second session of severe cold beginning January 13th.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year to all.
