It's that time of year. We're starting to see some fall colors appear this week. Boats are coming out and cooler weather is predicted for next few days. Don't forget the CSLOA Block Party at the beach this Saturday evening.

CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES
I was down at the Sweetwater Boar Ramp this morning helping a friend take his boat out and here comes a "work barge" loaded to the gills with the remains of what looks like an old dock system. It appears that construction projects are not slowing down. Gossip is that local contractors a booked a year out!

SWEEtWATER DOCKS
Went down to the Sweetwater Ramp Docks to install some cleats. To my pleasant discovery, the CSCD maintenance crew had already been there and installed cleats and some new rubber bumpers also.
Those docks at the ramp take a lot of abuse and use! Thanks to the CSCD crew!

OX ROAST LABOR DAY REVIEW
The 62nd annual Ox Roast is in the record books. A freak Saturday morning storm rained and blew shade tents all over the grounds but by the advertised noon opening of the event everything was in place and the crowds came! It appeared to be a "full house" all afternoon until the closing time of 5:00 PM. Thanks to all of the volunteers and workers who make this a success. Even though the forecast was showers and overcast skies, the lakes were busy on Saturday and Sunday but.....activity slowed down on the official Labor Day on Monday. The green lights on both lakes will now be adjusted to earlier evening times as sunset times become earlier and earlier.

SWEETWATER BEACH MOVIES
It was Saturday night at the movies at Sweetwater Beach. I wasn't too impressed with the idea until I visited that evening. The night was beautiful, lighted boats on the water, beach swimmers in the dark, a good sized group watching the movie, and free popcorn!
